The aim of this event is to give both theoretical background and hands-on practical knowledge in the field of Model Predictive Control (MPC) and Reinforcement Learning (RL), participants will learn the main concepts of the two approaches along with their similarities and differences.
The event comprises a one-week intensive course in MPC and RL, followed by two days of seminars with invited speakers and one day of poster sessions prepared by the ESRs.
Full details and the preliminary program are available here.
The 9th Airborne Wind Energy Conference (AWEC) has been held at the Politecnico di Milano from June 22 to 24, 2022, co-sponsored by ELO-X. The program included 12 oral presentation sessions in 3 parallel tracks, 4 plenary sessions, 2 poster sessions and 2 round tables with a total of about 90 contributions on technical/scientific, economic, and social aspects. About 200 people are expected to attend. The conference is co-organized by Politecnico di Milano, TU Delft and Airborne Wind Europe.
Full details and the tentative program are available at the conference website.
July 19-20, IMTEK – University of Freiburg, Germany
This two day course will be a live course for a limited number of PhD students – no recording, no streaming – in order to maximize interactivity between lecturers and participants. It covers stability theory for exact and real-time nonlinear model predictive control (MPC). Full details and the tentative program are available here.
All ELO-X PhD positions have been filled. In total, more than 750 applications by about 200 individual candidates have been received and evaluated. The 15 selected Early Stage Researchers are now ready to start exciting research projects in the field of learning and optimization for industrial systems!
