He is Full Professor of Automatic Control at the Politecnico di Milano. During the academic year 1984\/85 he was a visiting researcher at the Oxford University. He has also spent one year working in industry on the simulation and control of chemical plants. He was awarded the Quazza Premium and the Heaviside Premium of the Institution of\u00a0 Electrical Engineers, U.K. He has been Associate Editor of the IFAC journal Automatica and of the International Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing. He is author of more than 100 paper published in the main international journals of control, and of more than 150 papers presented at the international conferences.
